It can be easily seen that the concept of a two-way sneaker “underground wave” trend by sneaker lovers. Foreseeing the trend, since the beginning of this year there were informations about Jordan Brand releasing a version based on this concept. And the design chosen was none other than the Air Jordan 1 – the significant symbol of this brand.
The officially model is in its grey-dressed scheme. Across the overlays, the darker neutral dresses in a premium suede, paired up with layers of white smooth leather just adjacent. Moreover, the gold-gray combo has just been selected by Pantone as “Color of the year 2021”. The most valuable detail of this design is the yellow zipper running around the shoe neck, helping to switch from a High neck to a Low neck and vice versa.
It can be seen that Jordan Brand has leaned slightly towards the lower neck design. We can notice that the Swoosh mark placed low, making the ratio of the Low version look more harmonious. Due to the difference in height, the tongue is made of velcro (velcro buckle) to easily “cut” short when needed.
The tongue part has a pull tab type buckle, with the function of wearing shoes easier. Additionally, when the reed and the shoe collar are removed to turn into a low neck, the pull tab help connect to the shoe neck. The second keylock is placed on the heel of the shoe to keep it neat and prevent loss.
